A level

A levels represent an important step in a pupil’s learning in preparation for university or further career training.

Placing emphasis on depth of knowledge, students specialise in a moderate number of subjects, undertaking a detailed and thorough approach to learning.  A level study allows pupils to pursue a deeper understanding in their favourite subjects, while developing important independent study skills which will prove invaluable to their futures.

Most students study four subjects at AS level, leading to three subjects at A2 level.  Students wishing to take on a challenge might undertake four A2 level subjects or an extra AS level in their final year.

We offer a wide selection of subject options at A level and our Sixth Formers benefit from ample subject choice.

In addition to the core study programme, A level students undertake a general studies programme consisting of evening lectures and cultural events, ensuring a well-rounded education.
