For Prep Schools

We maintain close links with Prep schools through sporting, academic and extra curricular activities and welcome visits from other Heads and staff. Our staff also attend School Fairs and Parent Information events.

We offer talks and practical activities both here or at your school and if you would like to book a Gresham’s lecture, or require a coach or referee, please contact us.

Why did Gresham's School produce so many spies?
Five pupils from Gresham's in the 1920s and 1930s were involved in spying for the USSR. Why did this happen?

‘The French Revolution: An Overview’

Why did a revolution that broke out in France in 1789, intended as a force for good, end in such bloodshed and terror? This talk will explain why.

‘Napoleon: gifted genius or greedy grabber?’

Napoleon remains one of the most interesting and controversial characters in history. This talk will explain why.

Climbing and mountain rescue work (including how mountain rescue dogs are trained and worked).


‘Tom Bourdillon, man of Everest.’

'How school and war influenced one of the 20th century's most important mountaineers and scientists who, if cruel fate had not intervened, would have summited Everest just days before Hillary and Tensing made the first recorded ascent and became names known to everyone.  This talk is illustrated by original and rare photographs from the libraries of the Royal Geographical Society and The Alpine Club.

‘Designer Wildlife Lectures’
 

Dr Horsley has a wide range of talks available and is happy to adapt them (or even create new ones!) to suit your pupil’s requirements or interests. A flavour of what is on offer can be seen at www.wildlifeit.co.uk . All talks are multimedia with video and sound as well as photographs.


Music

• Our choirs, bands and orchestras are available to perform at concerts and other events.

• We offer an annual Choral Workshop at our Holt campus each summer and a Christmas workshop at Fishmonger’s Hall, London.

Chapel

• Our Headmaster and other staff are available to preach at Chapel services.

Referees

• Our rugby and hockey staff are available, with notice,  to referee and/or coach.

We also run a Britten Music Camp (residential) for children aged 8 – 13 years, an ideal way to experience boarding at Gresham’s.  As well as a variety of daily sports camps over the Easter holidays.  Full details of these camps may be found at:
