As another few weeks have flown by, I feel I should comment on some of the many activities and events that have populated them. I was delighted to be able to attend the choral ‘Sing It’ day at Fishmongers Hall on Friday 25th November, which saw Gresham’s students perform with five other Prep Schools in the magical setting of the Banquetting Hall. It was particularly special that Old Greshamian Tom Appleton was there to lead the choirs, and I’m sure that any parents who were able to attend would agree that it was a wonderful evening of musical entertainment.
The Drama department, too, provided brilliant spectacle and entertainment in the past few weeks with its production of ‘David Copperfield’, and I must congratulate all involved for what was a moving and gripping performance.
Of course, in the run up to Christmas the School has been hosting its own festive activities, the chapel being the fitting focal point for such events. The Music and Mulled Wine evening put on by Friends of Gresham’s proved to be, somewhat unsurprisingly, very popular, and the Junior and Senior Carol Services were warmly festive.
Continuing this seasonal vein, we have decided this year to send our Christmas greetings to our parents, pupils and staff in the form of a Christmas e-card. This is a new and exciting initiative for the School, and one I hope that you will enjoy.
Merry Christmas to you all.
