Welcome back.
 

To those families just joining our School community I wish you a very warm welcome and urge you to dive in and get involved as quickly as possible – both pupils and parents! I look forward to meeting you all over the coming days whether at Chapel, around School or for new parents, at the Friends of Gresham’s Bacon Butty Club on Saturday mornings or at one of the scheduled receptions this term.

I am just back from Sri Lanka, where the School has for the past 10 years sponsored a nation-wide Children's Music Festival. I was very proud to present a Gresham's Trophy to this year's winner, who will be joining the School for a week later in the year to work with our own musicians, and was also delighted to discover that Gresham's fame had reached far and wide across the island. I was warmly greeted wherever I went!
 

There is always a buzz about School in these first few days as we return, hopefully refreshed and reinvigorated, for the new school year and I hope everyone can maintain this enthusiasm over the coming weeks. We are off to a running start with lots for everyone to do, not least of course the House Music competition which will take place in just a few weeks.
 

There is a new look website, updated in response to feedback from parents, and we hope you find this even better and more user-friendly – comments are welcome. 
 

The School is running at full capacity which is good news and there has been extensive refurbishment around the campus over the Summer  as our maintenance staff have worked flat out to ensure the School premises meet all our ever-changing and increasing needs.
 

With many of the events which have taken place over the summer around the world I am reminded of just how lucky we are  here in Norfolk and how privileged our pupils are to spend a few years of their lives in such beautiful, safe and productive surroundings. I hope we can all appreciate this and make the most of this wonderful opportunity. Good Luck to everyone this term.  Let’s make it a great year for Gresham’s.
