Boarding Life

With over 250 boarders, our vibrant and supportive boarding community offers plenty of opportunity for fun.

We are a full boarding school, though opportunities exist for boarders to return home on Sundays if desired.  Those who remain over the full weekend can take part in our extensive range of weekend activities or choose relaxed down-time if they wish.

Our seven Houses, each with its own unique style and character, provide a warm and welcoming home-from-home environment.  An ongoing House refurbishment programme ensures that Houses remain up-to-date, offering a fresh and spacious atmosphere for boarders.

Students joining in the Third Form could expect to share a small dormitory, joining our friendly and cosy first-time boarding environment.  Older pupils share study bedrooms, and most Sixth Formers have their own room.  Students have access to a shared kitchen and Common Room, providing a comfortable space for relaxing and socialising.

A resident Housemaster or Housemistress runs each House, and students have the opportunity to become House Prefects, becoming leaders in the House community and acting as positive role models for younger students.

We believe that boarding cultivates responsible and considerate young people, promoting confidence and self-reliance in a lively and fun environment.  All students can rely on our House staff for support and guidance at any time; we aim to support students through their emotional and social development amongst a wealth of friends and peers.
