Gifted & Talented
We believe that education should be both stimulating and absorbing, and we do our best to ensure that each child is challenged in their studies and has access to enrichment opportunities.
Our ‘gifted and talented’ students may be able to explore advanced work at an earlier stage or work with the curriculum at a more sophisticated level. We aim to challenge gifted pupils, cultivating independent and enquiring thinkers through a programme of academic stimulation and enrichment activities. We encourage our gifted and talented students to build upon their strengths, making the most of their education and the opportunities available to them.
The Colloquium
Gifted and talented students can participate in the Colloquium, a discussion forum that promotes critical thinking and encourages pupils to debate, question and justify their opinions. Members receive valuable insight into university-level research, writing and presentation, in addition to receiving support in their applications to Oxbridge and other competitive university courses.
The National Academy for Gifted & Talented Youth (NAGTY)
We register all qualifying students with the NAGTY, which provides gifted and talented students with a range of learning enhancement opportunities and resources in addition to offering guidance in useful areas, such as careers advice, subject choices and university courses. NAGTY also encourages students to apply their skills in the local community, while participating in a national forum of similarly talented students.
