Gresham’s has embarked on an ambitious £5 million development plan which will see the introduction of a new Music School and Sixth Form Centre in September 2017 which will replace the existing music teaching area, as well as providing significant improvements to four of its boarding houses, in 2016.
The new two storey building which will be named the Britten building will provide modern and comfortable practice and performance spaces including a new 140 seat auditorium. Students can also look forward to the provision of a new recording studio, seminar and teaching rooms and social spaces including a café.
Four boarding houses will also benefit from a programme of improvements which will be delivered to Crossways and Kenwyn at the Prep School and Edinburgh and Britten at the Senior School which will help to improve the facilities to our boarding community.
The development of the new Music School and Sixth Form Centre are scheduled to start in April 2016 with improvements to the boarding houses expected from July 2016.
A model of the new Music School and Sixth Form Centre is on display at the Senior School reception, and can be viewed between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday during term time.
