A celebration with plenty of sunshine and sticks took place at Gresham’s at the school’s 30th annual Prep Schools Hockey Festival for Under 13 players.
More than 100 visitors made their way to Holt to enjoy a weekend of outstanding play with 252 exciting matches taking place amid a fantastically competitive atmosphere.
The annual festival is one of the largest sporting events held at Gresham’s and is the largest U13 hockey tournament in the country with almost 300 children from schools across the country taking part.
Gresham’s U13 Boys replicated the success they enjoyed at the recent Norfolk School U11 and U13 Boys Hockey Championships, powering to victory against The Perse School in the U13 Boys final.
Jonathan Lewis, Festival Director and Head of Hockey at Gresham’s School, said: “It’s been a tremendously successful weekend with some really exciting and closely fought matches being played. Congratulations to everyone who took part, the competitive spirit and skill demonstrated by the players during the weekend was impressive.
“Thank to the sponsors and everyone who plays a part in making the Festival a success and of course to parent and carers who support and cheer on the players.”
