Agriculture pupils enjoyed assignment-based trips
1 July 2021

Two assignment-based trips in quick succession this half term have helped to round off a very successful first year of the BTEC Agriculture course. The first trip saw the group at Hickling in the rain looking at Higher Tier Stewardship Schemes and studying how being sensitive to the environment can fit in with a modern working farm. A few days later, they visited Swannington in the sunshine to look at large scale pig production and the associated processing and marketing of the produce.
Thanks go to James and Minnie Tallowin at Hickling and Rob and Helen Mutimer at Swannington, along with everybody else who has hosted the group this year, for facilitating these hands-on learning opportunities for our very keen bunch of pupils. We’ll be back!
