Friendly sibling rivalry took place on the hockey pitches.

Gresham’s 2nd XI Girls faced off against local rivals Norwich School 2nd XI Girls, with some onlookers a little confused by the Ulster accents of the coaches. Not for the first time Dr. Adam Richardson of Gresham’s met his older brother Dr. Glen Richardson on the sidelines, as the teams battled it out on a sunny day at Gresham’s. The brothers both attended Campbell College, Belfast, before taking quite different paths in teaching. Glen studied Environmental Science at UEA, before a spell at the Met Office, and then returned to UEA to complete his PhD looking at water levels in Antarctica. He then trained as a teacher and started at Norwich School (the same year Mr Curtis started at Gresham’s). Adam took a different path, studying Economics and German at Nottingham, before a career in adventure tourism took him all over the world. He completed his PhD through the International Centre for Responsible Tourism based in Leeds, before training as a teacher in 2016. Both brothers enjoy teaching maths, while getting involved in all aspects of school life.
