Holt Youth Project has been announced as Charity of the Year
29 September 2021

The new Senior School Charity Committee are delighted to announce that the School Charity for 2021-22 is Holt Youth Project, a local charity which aims to provide a safe environment for young people to meet and socialise with the minimum of supervision, building their social communication skills and promoting ownership.
The Committee have spoken in Chapel to announce this year’s charity and their plans for fundraising. These include: A Teddy Bear Zip Wire event with the Pre-Prep; Bake Sales; a Charity Concert and a pupil art auction. On top of this, they hope to collect at the usual annual school events like House Music; the Chapel Christmas Tree Festival; Gritty Grasshopper; Gresham’s Half Marathon and Christmas jumper day. The announcement came on the same day as the Senior School pupils taking part in a home clothes day, helping to raise money for the charity by paying £2 to participate.
The team have already raised £310.51 by offering car parking on the School’s Parade Ground for a 1940s weekend event, which took place in Holt. A big thanks to Colin Scoles and the team for their help with the event.
The Holt Youth Project hope to use the funds to support young carers in our local community. You can give now on the Just Giving page by following this link: https://www.justgiving.com/greshamssch
