Sport Scholars were amongst the audience privileged (and hopefully inspired) to hear Hannah Stodel talk about her sailing journey so far as a triple World Champion and four time Paralympian.
She opened with ‘sailing around the world – can’t open a tin’ and described the sense of freedom sailing gives her and the highs and lows of being part of a Paralympian sailing team for 16 years.
She also spoke of her plans for the future, competing in the Vendee Globe. She will be spending 100 days alone in a Class 40, unassisted, aiming to be the first disabled sailor to compete in the event. You can follow her journey www.hannahstodelracing.com
