National Science Quiz Championship

Last term, a team of super scientists made up of pupils from Year 5 and 6 traveled to Cambridge to take part in a National Science Quiz Championship. The competition was fierce with a number of schools from all over the country competing to show off their knowledge. A range of topics was tested from the largest moon in space to the tiniest sub-atomic particles which tested even the adults in attendance.

This event is an exciting approach to motivating, inspiring and encouraging children in their quest for knowledge and providing them with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements as part of a high profile, national competition. More than 200,000 children take part in these Championships annually, making them one of the largest inter-school competitions in the UK.

It was great fun and everyone agreed they learned a huge amount from the experience. Well done to the children who represented the school so well.
