Pastoral care

At Gresham’s Nursery and Pre-Prep we pride ourselves on providing a happy, secure and nurturing environment for all our children.

The class teachers are responsible for the pastoral care of the children in their class and in the Nursery each child has a Key Worker who oversees the needs of the child and liaises with parents.

“The pastoral care throughout the school is excellent.”

Independent schools inspectorate report 2016

As our class sizes are small, our experienced staff know all the children very well ensuring that any issues, no matter how small, are dealt with in a kind and sympathetic way. Parents have daily contact with their child’s teacher and therefore concerns and queries are dealt with quickly.

Pupils new to the school settle easily and are quickly taken under the wing of fellow classmates. Good behaviour is expected and rewarded.  Assemblies often focus on our Golden Rules which form the basis of our Behaviour Policy and the children are given opportunities to explore their feelings and experiences through Circle Time and Drama.

“The friendly and inclusive approach to education. The staff and teachers are excellent and should be retained at all cost!”
