School Life

Nursery and Pre-Prep > School Life

The Nursery and Pre-Prep provides a broad curriculum delivered by our qualified teaching and nursery staff. A huge range of after school activities extend the school day from providing every child with a range of exciting hobbies to try.

Assemblies

Assemblies takes place regularly throughout the week at the Pre-Prep and these help the children to feel part of the Gresham’s community.

Themes for assemblies promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. During assemblies we provide pupils with knowledge of, and insights into, values and beliefs which will help them to be responsible, caring citizens, with an understanding of their rights and responsibilities.

Playtimes

There is plenty of opportunity for playtimes and children enjoy playing and mixing with their friends both inside and outside their classes across the school.

Our spacious, well-equipped Adventure Playground provides lots of opportunity for imaginative play.  Our playing fields allow children the space and freedom to develop their ball skills or just run around to let off steam. With lots of big wheel toys from trikes to scooters to play with as well as board games, puzzles and our well-stocked library for those rainy days.

School Council/ House System

Children are encouraged to take on responsibility as they progress through the Pre-Prep through our House System and School Council.

Our House system is named after three National Trust properties located in Norfolk.

  • Oxburgh (Hall)
  • Felbrigg (Hall)
  • Blickling (Hall).

Each pupil from Nursery to Year 2 is assigned to one of the three Houses. They meet half termly. The School Council meets twice per half term to work together to look at ways of improving and contributing to their school.
