OGs have been helping pupils explore career options

OGs John Cushing and Charlie Cushing, who work at the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, have given the opportunity of work experience to current U6th pupils interested in sound engineering, lighting and performance. This offers such a superb insight into production and networking with those working in the creative industry.

OG Zara Raslan and her colleague Phillip Paige, Director of Emerging Talent at JP Morgan did a joint presentation on JP Morgan’s Degree Apprenticeship programme to interested U6th pupils. It was super helpful for pupils to hear why Zara chose the degree apprenticeship route as opposed to university degree, why she loves it so much and what the training and programme involves. Phillip gave information on the application process, where the locations of training opportunities are and gave an insight into the positives of doing a degree apprenticeship.

OG Nick Chesworth came back into school to talk to a current U6th pupil Alex about his interest in the Media Sport Licencing sector. This was super useful as it gave an honest insight into the rapid growth of digital technology in the sports communication sector.
