OGs have been welcomed back to speak about their careers
3 March 2022

It has been wonderful to welcome back Old Greshamians to talk about their post Gresham’s career journeys and give inspirational talks to current pupils.
OG Lucy Bethell (c &O 1986 – 98) talked about her study and career journey to her role as Environment Consultant with Mott MacDonald.

OG Grace Pitkethly (c&E 2003 – 15) talked about her studies post Gresham’s, degree study of Anthropology to her role from 2020 as a statistician with the Civil Service. She talked about the multitude of roles and opportunities with the Civil Service, an employer of over 450,000 people and the number one graduate employer.

Gabbie King (OG) spoke to staff and pupils about her career at Accenture as a technology and innovation consultant. Having worked with some large companies world wide including HSBC, Coca Cola, Sky and Virgin Money since graduating with an Economics degree, Gabbie has helped them use technology to better connect with their customers (sustainability is a large part of this as well as product enhancement). She joined Accenture’s graduate scheme eight years ago and enjoys using different skills to those that pupils might commonly associate with an Economics degree and is a STEM for women mentor within the company.
This was an engaging presentation for those interested in this area.

Pupils and staff enjoyed a very helpful and inspiring talk from OG Angus Clogg on his study pathway to becoming a qualified Architect and now working for a large London practice.
Angus explained that the pathway to becoming an architect is a three-part study programme. Part one is to study a bachelor’s degree at a RIBA-validated university. After which you will need to do a year’s work experience. Part two involves studying a postgraduate degree, with further work experience required. Lastly, part three involves taking a course at a final RIBA validated institution. If you would like to to chat to Angus and have further questions, please contact Mrs Osborne who will put you in contact.
