OG Adam Turner (Farfield, 2001-06) will be making an appearance on Football Focus this Saturday at 12pm, discussing the 30th anniversary of Stonewall FC, the world’s most successful LGBT+ football team. For the last 10 of those years, Adam has been a stalwart in central defence. He will be making an appearance in a recorded segment of the show, discussing the club and its importance.
Currently Vice-Captain of the First Team and Club Committee Member in charge of welfare, he has given the club incredible service and has enjoyed impressive success in a team that currently sits in the 12th tier of English football and has won 17 major honours.
Adam was captain of the football team at Gresham’s but was more feted for his outstanding musical ability. He was also a superb actor and played the lead in a play that the school took to perform at the London Fringe in a unique experiment for Gresham’s drama, which has still never been repeated.
It was in music that Adam really excelled: his name can be found on the honours boards in the Britten Building, as well as the Prefect board in Farfield. Music has also given him his day job as a music producer and DJ, releasing music under the name of Farius. His recent tracks ‘Miami Love’ and ‘Running Away’ both have well over 1 million plays on Spotify.
After seeing him excel during his time in education, we now look forward to seeing him appear on Football Focus, yet another opportunity to watch an OG making waves in the wider world.
