The teaching day finishes at 4.30pm and is followed by a snack in House from 4.30pm until 5.00pm.
Between 5.00pm and 5.30pm, pupils participate in ‘electives’. This is the time when music ensembles and drama groups such as the choir rehearse, but also when academic departments are open for one to one tutoring with pupils. These academic ‘clinics’ allow pupils to gain valuable time to support their learning outside of the normal classroom environment.
Prep follows at 5.30pm in Houses and runs until supper, which will be at 6.45pm for Juniors and 7.00pm for Seniors. A second prep or quiet hour follows at 7.30pm until 8.30pm and is voluntary for pupils and monitored by the Housemaster/mistress.
The school timetable allows flexibility for day pupils to leave school at either 5.30pm, 7.00pm, 7.30pm or 8.30pm each weekday evening. Parents are asked to decide the timings wanted for each day and once this decision has been made, the expectation will be that it will remain unchanged for that term.
