The Hodgkin Society is the academic Biology society here at Gresham’s (named after Nobel prize winning scientist and former Gresham’s student, Sir Alan Hodgkin) and for the first time in its history the Hodgkin Society went online this week. Students and staff connected via Microsoft Teams to listen to Year 12 student Shahd A give a presentation on Quantum Biology. This included an introduction to Quantum mechanics, Quantum tunnelling and Quantum superposition using photosynthesis. This was a fascinating and very detailed presentation and Shahd did an outstanding job communicating this to all involved. We will continue to meet online in the coming weeks for more student led presentations on their own areas of Biological interest.
The Society is open to all students and the recording of Shahd’s presentation is available to view below.
