Swipin Thru History question and answer session

The return to online learning resulted in an exciting and unexpected opportunity for Gresham’s students. Lower Sixth A level historians, who are studying the Wars of the Roses, were treated to a 90 minute question and answer session with actor Thomas Dennis and historian and author Mike Ingram.

The session reviewed the extraordinary political events of 1450 to 1461 and students came up with ten questions to explore in the discussion. Issues explored were whether Richard of York should have been more ruthless in the 1450s, the importance of characters such as Queen Margaret of Anjou and Edward of Westminster as well as what motivated aristocratic killing in this era. This was a fascinating opportunity to discuss the early history of the Wars of the Roses with two experts in the field.
