Year 9 girls were taught to build a fire during survival training

Year 9 Oakeley girls ventured into the School woods for an introduction on how to use knives, saws and axes to prepare wood and make a fire out in the open. By the end of the session, everybody was able to use a fire stick. Mr Majid gave the pupils lots of top tips on how to use equipment safely.

Edinburgh girls continued their survival skills training by learning to cook on an open fire, which builds upon their previous skills of building a shelter and how to correctly use different equipment, as Oakeley have now experienced.
