Timetable

In Years 3 and 4, children attend Gresham’s Prep from Monday to Friday and from Year 5 upwards, they are with us on six days a week with the addition of our bespoke Saturday school enrichment programme.

The school day starts with registration at 08:15 for all year groups. Our junior pupils in Years 3 and 4 have slightly earlier finishing times than pupils in Years 5 to 8, but they may stay for after school activities if they are ready for a longer day or have siblings in older year groups. A rich and varied evening activities programme is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays until 18:00. As a general rule, the school day finishes at 17:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and on Wednesdays and Saturdays we provide a break in our busy week with an early finish time of 16:00 (Wednesday) and 15:30 (Saturday).

The school day is made up of 10 periods of 35-minute lessons and some of these are timetabled as longer double lessons to make the most of our outstanding facilities for art, drama, outdoor learning, music, sport and STEAM. Games and PE lessons take place on four out of five or five out of six days, where children receive dedicated sports coaching and/or compete in sports fixtures. All year groups receive class music lessons and individual music lessons are available at an additional cost, which are timetabled alongside normal lessons.
