Boarders at Gresham’s Prep make the most of our exceptional location on the North Norfolk coast. Regular trips to the beach are a favourite, with pupils enjoying barbecues, picnics and games of cricket by the sea.
Weekends are an important part of the boarding experience, and our full boarders enjoy a wide range of activities and excursions, all included within the boarding fee. Recent examples include:
- Trampolining
- Bowling
- Visits to the Royal Sandringham Estate
- Banham Zoo
- Christmas shopping in Norwich
- Mini golf
- Inflatable swim courses
There are also plenty of opportunities for boarders to enjoy the outstanding facilities available on the school site during evenings and weekends, including:
- Tennis
- Climbing and zip-lining in the Gresham’s woods
- Cricket nets
- Adventure playground activities
- Cooking sessions
- Toasting marshmallows around the fire pits
- Swimming and kayaking
- Easter egg hunts
In addition, we offer one optional payable excursion each term for boarders:
- Michaelmas Term: Theatre trip
- Lent Term: London trip, including the London Eye and a West End show
- Summer Term: Cambridge Aqua Park
Boarders also enjoy weekly walks into Holt town centre, where they can purchase essentials and a small amount of tuck. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings, pupils benefit from supervised screen time, which may include group gaming sessions or a movie night.
At Gresham’s Prep, every child is encouraged to enjoy their childhood in a safe, nurturing and caring environment. We believe in allowing children the time and space to develop at their own pace, helping them remain children for as long as possible before progressing to Senior School in Year 9.
