At Gresham’s, we believe it is important that pupils experience and participate in many different activities and events outside the classroom.

Residential School Trips, both within the UK and abroad, play a vital role in the Gresham’s experience. In October, we make our annual Year 9 visit the French and Belgium Battlefields. Other academic excursions have included a 10-day Physics trip to NASA in Orlando and a weekend visit to CERN in Switzerland.

Recent sports tours have taken pupils as far afield as Sri Lanka for hockey and cricket, France for skiing, the Netherlands for hockey, and both Cornwall and Portugal for rugby.

Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) attend Easter and Summer Camps and pupils are encouraged to attend CCF courses in the holidays to support their interests such as skiing, outdoor adventure and military skill development.

We have a thriving Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme, with expeditions regularly taking place in the local area, as well as in the Peak District, Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales. In addition, we maintain a partnership with a conservation programme in the Maasai Mara.
