Welcome to Gresham’s, the UK’s Best Public School (Tatler School Awards 2026). We are a historic and vibrant independent co-educational boarding school for children aged seven to 18. Founded in 1555 and set on a 300-acre estate in North Norfolk, our pupils have the space to become themselves.

Gresham’s is honoured to have recently won several prestigious awards, including being named ‘Best Public School 2026’ by Tatler magazine, ‘Independent School of the Year: Central’ in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025 and winning Talk Educations 2025 Award for Innovation in Education in the Performing and Creative Arts category.
OUTSTANDING ALUMNI
Gresham’s has a tradition of producing outstanding achievers in all walks of life, from architecture and the arts to engineering, sports and beyond.
Old Greshamians continue to inspire with notable figures such as composer Benjamin Britten, poet WH Auden, abstract painter Ben Nicholson, director Stephen Frears, entrepreneur and inventor Sir James Dyson, international rugby players Tom and Ben Youngs and Academy Award-winning actor Olivia Colman.
STEAM EDUCATION
The Dyson Building opened at Gresham’s Senior School in September 2021. Sir James Dyson, a former pupil at the school, enabled the innovative new centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

Open Mornings
We encourage you to visit the school to view our wonderful facilities for yourselves and to meet our pupils and staff. Attending one of our Open Mornings is an excellent way to gain a feel for the school. You will be able to tour the site and see lessons and activities taking place. If you feel Gresham’s is the right school for your child, the next step is to apply for a place.
There is a limit to the number of families we can welcome to these events so advance booking is essential. We hold two Open Mornings each year, one in the spring and one in the autumn. Use the buttons below to book onto one of our upcoming Open Mornings.
