The annual Pet Blessing Service celebrated our wonderful friends from the animal kingdon

Animals are a very important part of our Gresham’s family and on Saturday we welcomed creatures of all shapes and sizes to our annual Pet Blessing Service. This special event brought all three Gresham’s Schools together to celebrate our wonderful friends from the animal kingdom. Dogs, chickens, rabbits, horses, snakes, tortoises, goats and many cuddly toys were in attendance and a great time was had by all.

Pre-Prep pupils enjoyed an interactive concert at the Auden Theatre

Pre-Prep joined 4 other local Primary Schools at the Auden Theatre for an event organised by Norfolk Music Services for Key Stage 1 Children. Based on Pip Jones’s best-selling children’s book, Izzy Gizmo, and collaborating with members of the Bitten Sinfonia Orchestra, this interactive concert is the enchanting story of an intrepid young inventor who puts her talents to work to rescue a crow that can’t fly. Having learnt the songs in class, our pupils were extremely excited and the wonderful Polly Ives who narrated the show, fully engaged the children, introducing them to the Quintet and the instruments, doing lots of vocal warmups and leading them through the story which was animated on a screen. Our children experienced first-hand live music, storytelling and the chance to join in and be noisy!

Pre-Prep Eco committee invited Jess French to their assembly to discuss marine pollution

The Pre-Prep Eco committee invited Jess French to their Key Stage 1 assembly today to discuss marine pollution and to support their action towards their Green Flag application.

Jess told them all about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and shared ideas of how we can all have an impact on helping our environment.

The children listened with interest and asked her lots of interesting questions.

Gresham’s Triathlon 2023

On Sunday April 30th more than 110 participants aged from 3 to…more than 50 took to the start of the second Gresham’s Triathlon. They were greeted by glorious sunny skies and a large numbers of spectators who helped create a real sense of atmosphere for those undertaking this significant challenge. Laps in the pool, a cycle around our School Woods and a lap or two running around Eccles Field certainly made for an energetic Sunday morning and afternoon! Many congratulations to all those who competed and we look forward to welcoming you back next Summer Term!

Year 13 pupils went back to Gresham’s Nursery, where they started school

This week, the eight Year 13 pupils who have been all the way through Gresham’s from Nursery came back to visit the Pre-Prep. Alfie, Ben, George, Oli, Freddie, Grace, Annabel and Zack were all excited to see all the amazing changes that have happened since they left but they were also very glad to see that some things haven’t changed at all. They all agreed that everything seemed a lot smaller than they remembered!

The Gresham’s community celebrated The Coronation of King Charles III

Senior School

The CCF held a full Contingent Parade on Friday 5th May to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. A banner party comprising Sgts George P and Jemima T, and commanded by CSM George R, took centre stage and offered a royal salute. Following a few words by the Contingent Commander about King Charles’ military career and role, a full contingent inspection was conducted by the senior officers, accompanied by the CCF band playing a range of appropriate music. The chaplain also delivered prayers and a blessing in what was another unique occasion for the CCF.

Senior School Chapel Services took place to mark the forthcoming Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Thank you to pupils, parents and staff for making this a wonderful occasion.

On the Sunday evening, our Boarders enjoyed a special Street Party Chapel service where they reflected on their hopes for the future and enjoyed special Coronation crepes.

On Monday the whole school community gathered around Chapel lawn to take part in a special tree planting ceremony. The tree was planted by our Head Boy and Girl aided by one of the youngest members of our school community. This was followed by a Coronation Barbecue at lunch.

Prep School

The Prep School marked the coronation of King Charles III with some celebratory events including the planting of a Coronation Tree and a street party style lunch! Very lovely to see Mr Quick.

NURSERY & Pre-Prep

Nursery and Pre-Prep celebrated the coronation with a train ride on North Norfolk Railway. Red, white and blue was the theme, picnic lunches, quality family and friends time, making memories that will last a life time.

Pre-Prep enjoyed their visit to Houghton Hall

Pre-Prep had an incredible visit to Houghton Hall to see the massive sculptures by Sean Scully and take a look inside the Hall.

They were amazed at the size and scale of the pieces and enjoyed being able to walk all the way around them.

The Hall itself drew lots of gasps, as the awe and wonder of the size, beauty and luxurious finish overwhelmed us.

They saw more works inside by Scully before a very special viewing of the actual throne Queen Camilla will sit on at the opening of parliament in the autumn.

A picnic on the lawn, under the shadows of the Hall and sculpture finished what was a unique and very special visit.
