A Pathway To A Gresham’s Rugby Scholarship
Ben Youngs and Dan Cole are looking for talented young rugby players to join Gresham’s School’s rugby programme.
Players who demonstrate exceptional potential at the masterclasses may be invited to the next stage of the scholarship process: a rugby scholarship assessment at Gresham’s School during the week commencing Monday 9 November.
Successful applicants will be offered a rugby scholarship at Gresham’s School and will become part of the school’s Talented Athlete Development Programme.
A rugby scholarship is worth up to 20% of school fees. Means-tested bursaries are available to support scholarship recipients and may cover up to 100% of school fees, depending on individual circumstances.
Scholarships are available for pupils joining:
- Year 9 (five-year scholarship)
- Year 12 (two-year scholarship)

Ben Youngs is Head of Performance Sport at Gresham’s School, leading the development of talented young athletes across the school.
Dan Cole is a Sport Ambassador at Gresham’s, working alongside the school to identify and recruit exceptional sporting talent.
Together they bring decades of international rugby experience and a passion for developing the next generation of players.
Masterclass Dates
Three rugby masterclasses will take place during 2026:
- 29 August – Gresham’s School, Holt, Norfolk
- 4 September – Newark RUFC
- 19 September – Gresham’s School, Holt, Norfolk
The masterclasses are open to pupils who in September 2026 will be entering:
- Year 7
- Year 8
- Year 10
- Year 11
Everyone Is Welcome
You do not need to be applying for a scholarship to attend.
If you enjoy playing rugby and want to learn from two of England’s most experienced international players, these masterclasses are for you.
