Gresham’s explores anaerobic digestion and renewable energy at the Royal Norfolk Show
2 July 2026

Over two fantastic days at the Royal Norfolk Show, we were proud to be part of the STEMM Village, showcasing an engaging, interactive exhibit inspired by the theme “Hidden Worlds – From Microbes to Megawatts.”
Our stand brought together Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Agriculture, inviting visitors to discover the fascinating science behind anaerobic digestion and how microorganisms help transform organic waste into renewable energy and fertiliser. Through microscope investigations, visitors explored hidden worlds from algae to fungi, discovering the vital role these tiny organisms play in creating a more sustainable future.
The stand attracted a constant stream of visitors over both days, with families, pupils and industry professionals enjoying the opportunity to explore, ask questions and experience STEAM learning in action.
A particular highlight was the outstanding contribution of our Year 12 STEAM Ambassadors – Corin, Sophia and Sophie – whose knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism made them exceptional representatives for Gresham’s. They confidently explained complex scientific concepts, welcomed visitors and demonstrated the exciting opportunities that STEAM subjects can unlock.
Day Two also saw our Year 9 STEAM Ambassadors, Teddy and Nathaniel, showcase the robots they designed, built and programmed themselves. Their expertise, confidence and infectious enthusiasm captivated visitors of all ages, demonstrating the creativity, problem-solving and engineering skills that are developed through STEAM education at Gresham’s.
The Royal Norfolk Show provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate curiosity, innovation and collaboration, while highlighting the many exciting pathways that STEAM education can lead to.
