Around one quarter of our pupils board on a full time, weekly or flexible basis and we have two boarding houses; Crossways for girls and Kenwyn for boys.

Our boarding houses are run by dedicated and imaginative staff who ensure that boarders are extremely well cared for and have an excellent boarding experience.

The boarding houses are very comfortable and create a home from home environment with great care and thought put into ensuring that boarding life is organised in a way that gives children the structure that they need as well as making sure that they have a lot of fun! Boarding allows children to develop independence and self-discipline in a supportive and kind environment.

“The quality of boarding is excellent.”

Many day children flexi-board on a regular basis for up to three nights a week. Flexi-boarding allows children to experience boarding without committing to it full time. Many children love taking the opportunity to do this; flexi-boarding can also be very helpful to parents and pupils who have busy lives. A number of children flexi-board lower down the school, before becoming full time boarders in their later years.

On Sundays we ensure boarders are happily engaged with trips out or activities at school. Our trips include visits to local cities such as Norwich and Cambridge, days at the beach, visits to theme parks and time spent at local landmarks and places of cultural and historical significance. We aim to achieve a balance between stimulation and relaxation!

Academic support

House parents and boarding house tutors are on hand to give academic support to boarders when it is needed. Supervised revision sessions are organised in the run up to exams.
