The Modern Languages Theatre Evening was another resounding success this year with pupils from all year groups performing in front of a hugely supportive crowd. Highlights of the evening were the famous German cheesecake and coastguard sketches, a tai-chi film and re-enactment of Waterloo, delightful instrumental and voice pieces, (including an Icelandic song), songs and poems from various classes, and of course the international cuisine Chez David post-performance. This was sadly the last show in Scruffs Shacks, due to the exciting Dyson Building development, and Mr Retter’s last soirée, (although he has promised to come back with a surprise performance next year).
A huge well done and thank you to all involved, to Andy Clegg for his technical expertise, and for the mutual support and respect shown throughout. It is wonderful to see languages thriving and to celebrate the rich diversity we have here at Gresham’s.
