International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme was introduced to Gresham’s in 2007, and has proved increasingly popular with our pupils, who have achieved outstanding results.

Gresham’s has swiftly gained an international reputation as an IB Diploma centre of excellence, with pupils progressing to some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions, including the University of Oxford, Yale University, University College London, Imperial College London, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Warwick, the University of Connecticut, University of California, Berkeley and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

“Outstandingly good IB results.”

The Good Schools Guide

At Gresham’s, we believe that the IB Diploma’s reputation for proven academic depth across a broad and innovative curriculum makes it an excellent academic programme for our pupils and will provide them with the intellectual, social, cultural and linguistic skills they need to succeed. In particular, as an academic qualification, the IB Diploma engenders a sense of internationalism and an awareness of global contexts, something that is increasingly valued by university admissions officers and employers in today’s global marketplace. The IB Diploma also offers more to a wider range of pupils, with the Diploma, Bi-lingual Diploma and the Diploma Programme Course Results (awarded to pupils who do not take the full Diploma or achieve partial success in it) all being independently accredited to all further and higher education institutions in the UK.

The IB Diploma offers a stable, credible and internationally recognised path to academic success in an increasingly competitive and changeable environment.
