International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme was introduced to Gresham’s in 2007, and has proved increasingly popular with our pupils, who have achieved outstanding results.

Gresham’s has swiftly gained an international reputation as an IBDP centre of excellence, progressing to some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions, including Oxford, Yale, UCL, Imperial College, Edinburgh, Warwick, Connecticut, Berkeley and LMU Munich.

“Outstandingly good IB results.”

The Good Schools Guide

We believe that the IBDP’s reputation for proven academic depth across a broad and innovative curriculum makes it an excellent academic programme for Gresham’s pupils and will provide them with the intellectual, social, cultural and linguistic skills they need to succeed. In particular, as an academic qualification, the IBDP engenders a sense of internationalism and an awareness of global contexts – something that is increasingly valued by university admissions offices and employers in today’s global marketplace. The IBDP also offers more to a wider range of pupils, with the Diploma, Bi-lingual Diploma and the Diploma Programme Course Results (awarded to pupils who do not take the full DP or achieve partial success in it) all being independently accredited to all further and higher education institutions in the UK.

The IBDP offers a stable, credible and internationally recognised path to academic success in an increasingly competitive and changeable environment.
